    Dear Sir:

I want to complement Dr.Thomas Hwang, ophthalmology, Redwood City, CA..

On March 15, 2016 I was diagnosed at Santa Clara, CA. with wet age related macular degeneration in my right eye. Dr. Lee, discovered this condition, and gave me an injection of Avastin with instructions to phone if I develop certain symptoms.

On 3/17, in the evening, my eye felt swollen and had other symptons of concern, so I phoned advice nurse. After about an hour of back and forth describing what was going on, I was connected with Dr. Hwang. We talked for a while, and he offered to see me as soon as I could get to the Santa Clara ophthalm. office. This was 8 pm, evryone had gone home, but Dr Hwang met me,opened up the examination room, and gave me a thorough eye exam. I did have an infection, not related to the AMD, and he gave me a sample with antibiotics.
A day later my vision is as good as new.

This goes way beyond the normal care that I expect, and I’d like to give Kaiser and especially the advice nurses and the Dr., very warm thank yous.

Kaiser has a terrific team spirit.
    Regards
    Robert Pollak

I think this is a great idea. Too many kids are not active enough.
